BASIC FACTS

  • natural method used to relieve pain, restore energy and enhance sleep

  • safe, effective,  economical, and simple to use

  • thousands of years old

  • strong evidence suggests it relieves pain, Reduces inflammation, restore natural energy, increase blood circulation and support the healing process

 BRIEF HISTORY

  • ancient heritage and has occupied a central role in Chinese medicine for over 2000 years

  • mentioned in some of the earliest writings in Egypt, India and Greece

  • Today in Japan and other Asian countries, therapeutic magnets are licensed as medical devices. Magnetic therapy has found favor in Australia, Russia and many European countries, especially Germany where medical insurance covers some of the costs. Contemporary western medicine uses magnetic energy for diagnosis with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and, as a method to accelerate the healing of bone fractures.

EVIDENCE

  • Studies show that magnets can be an effective therapy for the relief of pain by blocking pain sensations.

  • Applying magnetic fields to an injured area improves blood flow and oxygen to enhance the body’s natural healing process. The improved blood flow and fluid exchange to the injured tissue helps reduce pain and inflammation.

  • In 1997, Dr. Carlos Valbona of the Baylor College of Medicine, published a study that reported 76% of treated patients using permanent magnets reported a decrease in arthritic joint and muscle pain compared to 19% of placebo patients.

  • Diabetic Foot Pain: Dr. Michael Weintraub of New York Medical College released a study that showed a significant rate of reduction in foot pain that afflicts millions of diabetics. Using magnetic insoles, nine out of ten diabetics reported a decrease in painful burning sensations, numbness and tingling compared to 22% reporting improvement in the placebo group.

  • Fibromyalgia:  Magnetic Mattress Pad Use in Patients with Fibromyalgia, A Randomized Double-blind Pilot Study, conducted by Agatha P. Colbert, M.D., Clinical Assistant Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA.  Conclusions were "Sleeping on a magnetic mattress pad provides statistically significant and clinically relevant pain relief and sleep improvement in subjects with Fibromyalgia. No adverse reactions were noted during the 16-week trial period."

  • Others - There are hundreds of other clinical trials that prove the efficacy of magnetic therapy some are reported in Gary Null’s  book Healing with Magnets, and in the excellent work, Magnetic Therapy in Eastern European Research, by Jiri Jerabek, M.D., PHD and William Pawluck, M.D., MSc.

WARINING

GOAL OF WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM

  • Decrease Appetite and Create Sense of Fullness:  Often a ravenous appetite and overeating can be avoided by supplementing to balance sugar rollercoasters and hormones that contribute to cravings.
  • Normalize Hormones: No matter how much we try to control diet and exercise weight loss can be very difficult if we don't balance hormones that contribute to feelings of satiety, aid in weight loss and assist with normal metabolism.
  • Increase Metabolism:  Metabolism can be disrupted by starvation diets, skipping meals, thyroid imbalances and stress hormones.  Helping to boos metabolism but avoiding dangerous herbal stimulants is important to sustain weight loss.
  • Loose Weight while Maintaining Muscle Mass:  While learning about your diet you will be able to ask questions about other health issues you wish to address such as menopause, osteoporosis, allergies, high blood pressure, etc.

What is different about this weight loss program?

  • Sustainable and safe:  Many weight loss programs involve special diets that last only the duration of the weight loss program.  This is partly because these diets are not sustainable or healthy in the long run.  In most cases these diets are based on calorie counting or on extreme measures such as excluding all carbohydrates from the diet.  These have long term health risks and only short term gains.
  • Individualized and customized: This program addresses the individual causes of weight problems so each and every person is approached differently.  Hormone imbalances, sleep, foods, activity level, stress, thyroid functioning and family history all effect your weight and are taken into account to create a personalized program.
  • Preventative care:  You learn how to eat properly and sensibly, slowly introducing new foods into your diet, gaining better health and variety.  You are provided with specific guidance, handouts, recipes and suggestions.  The changes you make will become lifetime habits and will help decrease the risks of future diseases like cancer, heart disease, hypertension and high cholesterol.
  • Includes advice/treatments for other areas of health:  While learning about your diet you will be able to ask questions about other health issues you wish to address such as menopause, osteoporosis, allergies, high blood pressure, etc.
